Switchboard & Safety Upgrades on Sydney’s Northern Beaches
Planning a renovation, adding an electrical appliance or unsure about your existing switchboard?
BIZNAR Electrical can assess your installation, explain the options and quote the proposed work before you decide how to proceed.
How we can help
Depending on your existing installation and requirements, work may include:
- Switchboard replacement or upgrades.
- Improvements to circuit protection, including safety switches.
- Additional circuits for planned electrical work.
- Circuit identification, labelling and testing.
The assessment helps establish what your property needs and what should be included in the quote.
Planning changes to your home?
Tell us about any planned appliances, renovations or EV charger installation.
We can assess the existing switchboard, available electrical capacity and circuit requirements together. Replacing a switchboard does not automatically increase the electricity supply available to your property.
Discussing future plans early helps us consider them when recommending the work.
Does an older switchboard automatically need replacing?
Age alone does not establish what work is needed. The condition of the installation, existing protection and any planned changes all matter.
If you have older fuses or are unsure about your safety switches, an assessment can help identify suitable improvements.
What is the difference between a safety switch and a circuit breaker?
They provide different types of protection. A circuit breaker protects wiring against excessive current. A safety switch detects current leakage and disconnects the affected circuit to help reduce the risk of serious electric shock.
Some devices combine both functions. We can explain the protection your installation has and any recommended changes.
Will a new switchboard stop my power from tripping?
The cause needs to be identified first. Tripping can result from an overloaded circuit, faulty equipment or a wiring fault.
A switchboard replacement may not resolve the underlying problem. Tell us what happens and when, so we can discuss the appropriate assessment.
Does a switchboard upgrade include rewiring the house?
A switchboard upgrade and a house rewire are different scopes of work. The quote will explain what is included. If assessment or testing identifies other work, we will explain the findings and proposed next steps.
What affects the price?
The scope can depend on the existing board, number of circuits, protection required, access and the condition of associated wiring.
Photos can help with the initial discussion, but an on-site assessment may be needed before we can confirm the proposed work and price.
Tell us about your job
Useful information includes:
- Your suburb and property type.
- What prompted the enquiry.
- Any planned appliances or renovation work.
- What happens if a circuit is tripping.
- Your preferred timing.
If safely accessible, you can email a photo showing the existing switchboard from outside its protective covers. Do not remove covers or touch wiring to take a photo.
Appointments are arranged after discussing your enquiry. Submitting an enquiry does not confirm a price or booking.
